Functional Skills for Adults - regional network meeting

The meeting for the Eastern region is in Cambridge and will provide opportunities to share approaches to the implementation of functional skills and discuss common issues of development. The meetings will be chaired by an LSN co-ordinator and will feature a range of presentations and contributions from across the post-16 sector.
The meetings, which are free and include lunch, are designed to run from 10.00 to 15.30 and will provide information on all three functional skills.
The meetings will:
• provide updates and progress on the functional skills pilot, including publications, materials and assessment
• offer opportunities to meet with other providers to develop collaborative working within the region
• examine strategies for the implementation of functional skills, drawing on experiences of centres in the region
• investigate issues such as staff development and resourcing related to functional skills.
