Skills for Life - Level 5 Diplomas in Literacy, ESOL and Numeracy

West Suffolk College will be offering 45 credit diplomas for Skills for Life tutors. These are the qualifications required for fully Qualified Teaching and Learning Status with The Institute for Learning, in addition to a generic teaching qualification.

These Level 5 Diplomas are:
Additional Diploma in teaching Mathematics (Numeracy) in the Lifelong Learning Sector.

Additional Diploma in teaching English (Literacy) in the Lifelong Learning Sector.

Additional Diploma in teaching English (ESOL) in the Lifelong Learning Sector.

You will need to teach for 75 hours and have 4 observations.  The course will be run over two academic years with a start date of Spring 2008. City & Guilds ask for 120 guided hours of time and approximately 300 hours ‘personal study’ in addition to this. Your teaching practice (75 hours) is included.
