CTLLS is designed for lecturers who are fulfilling an "Associate Lecturer" role  This is defined by LLUK as a teaching role that carries significantly less than the full range of  teaching responsibilities ordinarily carried out in a full teaching role.  This is someone who teaches predominantly in the following ways:
  • from packs/pre-prepared materials
  • in design of curriculum and materials
  • on a one to one basis
  • a package confined to a particular level/subject/type of learner
  • short courses
DTLLS is designed for lecturers who are fulfilling a "Full Lecturer" role, which means a teaching role that carries the full range of teaching responsibilities in the Learning and Skills Sector.  This is someone who teaches:
  • using materials they have designed and evaluated
  • across a range of levels, subjects and learner types
  • across or contributes to a range of programmes of varying lengths
