Qualifications

From September 2007 a new framework for teacher, trainer and tutor education and qualifications in the post compulsory sector in England has been introduced.    All new entrants to teaching in the sector will be required to complete a new award which will prepare them to teach.  Those for whom teaching, tutoring or training is their major role, will be required to progress to a further qualification appropriate to their role. Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) have produced an Information Pack and more detailed guidance for awarding institutions. There is also a dedicated LLUK FE workforce reform website.

It is recommended that you visit the websites of the Institute for Learning and Lifelong Learning UK as you review your own development and CPD goals.

The General Professional Recognition Learning and Skills (GPRLS) scheme will enable competent and experienced teachers to be recognised as a qualified member of the workforce.  Follow the link
